Oh, yeah, thanks, and I have found such a bobbin helpful when I needed to
make a slight modification to an extant xfmr, as the windings were so
obviously-separated, etc. But "buying just one" for the hobbiest making ONE
gadget with an odd transformer in it is usually difficult. My article is
"how to" with readily-available items, not "custom, 10,000-off per order"
moulded bobbins. I have seen very, very few such bobbins "on the shelf" in
surplus-outfits, so, impossible to "go shopping for just one". But they DO
have their advantages! (I have had no experience with transformers with
windings over, say, 1KV, but I suspect winding such in bobbins wouldn't be
reliable, as there would not be the carefully-laid layers of wire, with
tissue between each layer, thus "accumulating" insulation as one
"accumulated" more and more voltage/winding-turns! (If I needed a 5KV
transformer, I'd go BUY it, ready-made and warranted for at least 90 days!!!)
