It takes a lot of experience to spot the really worthwhile salvage. I still make the same mistakes even though I know better.
(i.e spending 350 bucks on refurb an old Rockwell belt sander) It sometimes helps to have an objective 3rd party to kill your
enthusiasm and make you look at the machine without the rose colored glasses.
