Sorry to delay on the response, but I am in digest mode due to a 3D project,
which I am starting to leak ;-)

Check this out:

We distribute a program written by a CNC machinist to help him program threads. He recently
re-wrote the program in PowerBasic and EZ-GUI. This is an alternative to MS programming
languages, compiles and creates VERY tight code. The demo on our site is under 400K bytes.
If you need threads, it covers it, multiple leads, variable infeed angle, canned cycles, tapered, or multiple passes.
If you need to calculate a centerdrill depth, a depth to drill to get a desired chamfer, or a total depth
to drill to get full depth, knowing the drill point angle, it's great. It also has grooving, reaming, tapping.
There is a mode switch to use inch or metric units, and a great little percent, thread depth calculator
for deciding what size drill to use with a given tap. It generates a complete block of G-code for each process,
that can be pasted to any windows text editor. Speed and feed calculation is also included.

The best part about Lathe Quick Code 2000, is that it only costs $70 this month(normally $95).

You will still need a cam program or manual g-code for contouring.

LQC2000 works like a conversational program. You fill in the blanks, hit calculate, and it generates
a chunk of G-code to cut it.

If you want to learn about programming lathes, for nearly all processes, except contouring, Lathe Quick
Code is a good tool to learn with.

Don't forget ByeBye Bobcad, see our link page for details of the lottery.
