At this hour, (it's late) on this day (holiday) and in this condition,
(Labatts)
It will be a challenge to answer you intelligently, but I'll try......might
fail,
oh well.

You post several important points, some of which MAY near totally
<invert> the machine tool (control) industry and shake the change out of it's
pockets! (I sorta wish, but it'd f**g (frig) up the economy real bad).

Good 'ole God darn Al Bradley, Never saw a <less> reliable control.
Sorry, that's MY experience, not intended to offend the faithful A/B
followers. Maybe the current stuff is better??
I've got some 7300 parts, etc. EMAIL me...

I'm sure if GE gets hold of EMC they'll try & "improve it" and
sell the "improved, MORE complicated version" for big buks.
Lets hope they aren't worried............and leave it alone.

One curious (serious) question I have, maybe redundant, is in regards to
I/O. The test machines have relatively complicated tool changers.
How does EMC handle the plc/pmc/ "ladder logic" function?

Well, these are my spout-off's Mr.Ball-end-milleo,
Criticize and crucify at will.
And don't stop asking "why not" and "what if"?
