You must be a first. I haven't heard others speak of using rtlinux-2.3.
Most are still running rtlinux-09J although a few use 2.0, 2.2, and 2.2a
All of these will work and are supported by the EMC install software. I
recommend that you back up just a bit. Or have fun.
Now what is happening is that sim.run is finding your realtime linux
version and then is looking in emc/plat for a directory with a name
related to what it found. You could try to fool the sim.run into thinking
it found such a directory by making a link from the linux directory that
is in that plat directory. You might try the following command from a
terminal who's working directory is emc/plat. (this are lower case L)
ln -s rtlinux_2_2 rtlinux_5_0
You will have to change these directory names to fit your situation. If
you are successful then the sim.run script will create a realtime
directory that is linked to the 5.0 which is linked to the 2.2.
But having said that I won't guarantee or even guess that the 2.2 version
of EMC will run with 5.0 but it will try. If you try the link let us know
what happens. You should also post your results to emc@...
