This is insane! Why would you want to lose 95% of the information
content, and
then try, somehow, to recreate it? If you want a linear velocity
command signal,
use a DAC.

Why do you want to deface a good linear servo system with a PC program
that
only knows steps? There ARE alternatives!

(Yes, I know, I'm a servo bigot, but I LIKE smooth motion.)
