My first ride in a small plane was a trip from Dugway Proving Gnd. to a field trapping site on the NV border. Pilot of the L-19
took a pass over the pond to check out the wind. Judged it 180 out and we landed on a deeply rutted dirt road with an decent tail
wind. Talk about thrills. At least he didn't chase the antelope on the way out there like some of the pilots.
