I am a newbie so take my suggestion with a pinch of
salt and check with those cadcam experts on the list,
but regarding your how to……dxf to G-code, I taught my
students to draw with autocad (probably with
intellicad too, quite sure can) then export the file
in the dxf format to Flashcut (www.flashcutcnc.com) in
just a few lessons. If you want 3-d try deskproto
(www.deskproto.com or www.delft.nl I think) – very
easy to use, very good for newbies like me.

Senior Lecturer, scapegoat, whipping boy etc, etc.
