Hello,
The BASIC stamp(and its variations) is a Microchip PIC controller
programmed to run A BASIC dialect by Parallax. This gets around the
need to learn the sometimes cryptic microchip PIC "assembler" code.
At the expense of some speed and program size.
Thought some might be familiar w/ the "stamp" but not with its origin.
Bill,
Have you looked at Scott Edwards site/writing re the stamp and PICS.
He had a series of articles in Nuts and Volts magazine a couple years
ago, I think. Pretty basic/simple/ good info.
Sorry I don't have his web url at the moment.
Ballendo
P.S. there is a company in the UK selling CNC controller/kits which
use one stamp per axis and, I think, one for IO/overhead. Also
advertises in N&V mag.
