Re: EMCO 5"

Alan,

I'm pretty sure that's a "standard" Rohm chuck. I think EMCO used
Rohm chucks on most of their small machines.

I have an Emco CNC6 which is in the smallest series of CNC
production lathes they made. With it they threw in a small 3 jaw
with the 29mm (1.142") mounting bolt pattern. My books say the bolts
are M5 x 40 DIN 912-6.9. The M5 x 40 DIN business doesn't make any
sense to me. But, M5 x .8 is a standard which is probably what they
are. I had to buy a couple new mounting bolts and had no problem
getting them locally.

My chuck has a 70mm recess in the back which is a snug fit on the
flat faced spindle. EMCO refers to my chuck as an 80mm.

I have a Rohm power chuck for this machine and have found Rohm's US
office to be very helpful with information and advice, plus supplying
machineable jaws. The number I have for Rohm is 1-800-445-7646.

Doug
