Ahh, a man after my own heart....

Just after I got my fist lathe (and old boxford) I made a bearing seat so
horridly oversize I used hermetal and re-machined, made it oversize the
second time round so I then loctited the bearing into the machined hermetal
:-). It was a bearing recess in a casing for a small winch, which I'd had
built up with weld, and I didn't have the guts to front up to the chap with
the tig plant to get him to weld it again after I messed it up. It's still
going strong 5 years on though. Should have never sold that lathe, but
that's another story...
