Anyone use Allegro SLA7042M/7044M Unipolar Microstepping?

I have acquired some samples from Allegro of their SLA7044M
Microstepping, Unipolar PWM, High-Current Motor Drivers. Used with
their PG001M Parallel-to-Serial Data Converter it appears
straightforward enough to run a Step/Direction circuit from the
Parallel port for 3 axis control.

Anyone use this chip? What are your thoughts?
