For all those interested, the address of the place I get my wood epoxy impregnated is:

Wood Stabilizing Specialists, Inc
6119 Nordic Drive
Cedar Falls, IA 50613

As I understand from original correspondence with them...they own the patent on this procedure. It's probably still in force since it only became available about 10 years ago...I think.

As far as I know this is the ONLY way to get epoxy forced all the way thru a 4 x 10 piece of wood. I don't think treating the end grain of a piece of wood that's several feet long would soak all the way thru either...in spite of what the sales people tell you.

The treated wood WILL sink! It machines and polishes really well too.

I think its a great material for CNC work. You can buy already treated pieces from knife makers supply outlets, gunstock manufacturers, at gun and knife shows and lots of other places. But if you need a large piece for a specila project, have it done for you.

Hope this helps?
