"trees" used for model layout, which was mentioned here a while back. I'm
not sure Smith's penetrating epoxy would do that. It works best with very
porous (rotten) wood, as it's very thin-bodied stuff. Boat people like it a
lot, but I'd treat it with respect- I got some on me once and got marks
like insect bites which took a long time to go away. Maybe I'm just
sensitive. I didn't know Steve Smith gave tree clinics (he's a man of many
talents), although I used to get silicone rubber from him years ago, when
he was dealing off pull-dated stuff from aerospace auctions.
Speaking of wax, was it Smoke that said foundry wax causes corrosion of
metal? I had a very hard time believing that one. Can I get a sample of
this wax and try the experiment for myself? I use brown wax a lot, and have
even used it to PROTECT metal- I never noticed any corrosive effect.
