Ye, that was me. Not all foundry wax will do this. If you don't believe...come visit my shop and I'll show you the pits in my mill table.
How big a sample do you want? I can cast a small slab of what I have and mail it to you. The sample I machined was given to me by one of the gunsmithing instructors and might not be exactly the same as the wax we use for casting at school. We get that from Johnson Atelier. You can get large slabs from them.

Speaking of wax, was it Smoke that said foundry wax causes corrosion of
metal? I had a very hard time believing that one. Can I get a sample of
this wax and try the experiment for myself? I use brown wax a lot, and have
even used it to PROTECT metal- I never noticed any corrosive effect.
