Here's something that might interest us all:

I used to be a machine designer, some of you are excellent at the
electronics end. How about we design a REALLY GOOD, HEAVY DUTY 3 in 1
machine we could all build from parts that you could buy "piece me" or as a
set of parts. You buy the parts and build the machine....sort of like the
old Heathkit electonic kits. Those were really quality kits!

You could choose what length lathe bed, how much vertical travel for the
mill head and how much crossslide travel you wanted from a several choices.

I'm sure with we could come up with something better than anything available
on the market today.

Anyone interested in tackling a project like this?
