Thanks for several informed comments regarding handwheels on CNC
mills (in my case a Cinci Toolmaster). The reason I wanted wheels is
just the pure kinestetic pleasure of a ton of iron vibrating in my
hands and hot chips burning holes in my arms.
But Jon's point is something I'd not considered. The non-
irreversability of ball screws puts the kibosh on hand jive for me. I
know for sure I'd make exactly the kind of wrong move when climb
milling that Jon describes.
Guess I'll keep the old RF-30 after all for those times when I've
just gotta have that feeling.
