This makes sense. Most of the 'wart-off" preparations are heavy doses
of salicylic acid. Aspirin. Directly applied. Kills the pain, then
kills the skin.

P.S. On the topic of slivers, two helps. If it's Ferrous; use the
magnet from a stepper motor (or other STRONG magnet). Can be a real
help!
2nd, the little "sliver getter" tweezers sold (hardware stores) in a
small plastic tube with metal "screw on" top really work WELL! About
5 bucks. Mine say made by "Uncle Bill" :-) MUCH better than
the "eyebrow pluckers" sold in the cosmetics dept.
