Bport muzings

Have been reviewing past threads and Jon's site re Z-axis Bport J-
head conversion.

Wonder if anyone has worked out a solution involving either of the
following:

1) Solenoids to actuate the existing power feed mechanism, together
with an encoder or resolver on the manual handle shaft.

2) A linear motor, like a Mitutoyo quill DRO on steroids and with
muscle.
