Thanks Randy,My $.02:

As the table says, the MAXIMUM DC output is 2A per channel(stepper winding).
And although that spec says 50V power supply, you had better be SURE that your
system will NEVER get above this, and the lower the voltage you can work with,
the better. Good board design WILL let you run these things at 40V. GOOD HEAT
SINKS ARE A MUST!! Fan - cooled too.

I've always used a 24VAC Xfrmr, bridge rectified, 40Kmfd filter cap, for about
34VDC. And my drives auto-idle when the step pulses stop... MANY people HATE these
chips, but they work fine for many others...

DO respect that max Vs though! And don't forget about the "generator effect" of a
stepper "back-driven"!
