A few point about the PIC Servo.
1. The PIC Step adapter will work with the parallel port tho it seems to
slow down quite a bit.
I was lucky to get 300 RPM's on a 486-33sx with the parallel port adapter.
With serial I could get 3000+ with good control.
2. The PIC servo board from JR Kerr was only a 2 A output tho there are
connections for other amplifiers.
