Hi All:
Once upon a time I did some work for a medical research team.
One of their projects was digitizing the shapes of amputees' stumps so
prostheses could be CNC machined for them.
They used a process called "Shadow Moire" to generate contour maps.
I don't know any of the details and I don't know if they were ever
successful with it.
