The ISBN number is something a publisher APPLIES FOR from RR Bowker.
This is an INDEPENDANT company (much like UL i.e.,Underwriters
Laboratories). The ONLY thing 'sacred' about the ISBN number is its'
near universal use by bookstores... It is NOT a government mandated
thing. As such, NOT all books will have an ISBN number (but any
author writing now who doesn't is foolish, IMO).

Felt this was important to add as many 'niche' books (like we might
be looking for in CCED) may not have either a LCCN or ISBN. More info
