AFIK the us org is really a commercial venture whereas I interpret the european work as an iso (standards) type project.

Everything I've seen so far seems to say that step is going to be spendy and priced far beyond the reach of the hobbyist. Because
of the detail involved is also isn't going to be hand coded. Hope I'm wrong.
