Build your own CNC

Since I bought a Bridgeport, I have abandoned my quest to build
my own CNC mill. This has left me with a pile of parts however.
I was going to put it all on ebay but that's too much trouble. I
have decided to offer the whole pile to somebody out there on the verge
of building their own. For one of you electrical guys who may not have
the hardware lying around. Here it is.

Here is a list of the components I collected over a 6 month period.
For sale all together only. That's the catch, I want to get rid of this
stuff so it's all or nothing. You will have to pay freight (about 500
lbs) or pick it up yourself in Columbus, Indiana.

1. XY table from an old EDM machine (appx. 9"x18" travel about 300+
lbs)
You will have to put it back together, I took it apart and cleaned it
but it is still in peices. Acme screws 5tpi. And has a built in 1 shot
lube system for which I have all new line and ferrules.

2. Leeson 1/3 hp DC motor (1750rpm) and Speedmatic speed control
(possible spindle motor). Motor has a 40:1 right angle worm drive on it
now, I'll throw that in too.

3. 2 Sealmaster Gold Pillow blocks and 18" shaft (1-7/16")

4. 2 Thompson 1" linear rails 4 ft long (open style fully supported)
and 2 linear bearings (super pillow blocks). There is bad rust on
half of these rails but the other 24 inches is clean and the bearings
are clean. (this was for the Z)

5. 2 NEMA 42 "universal" stepper motors. Don't know the brand. They
were tested on a Slo Syn indexer and they moved. I wired them unipolar
and the coil resistances look good, no shorts in the coils.

6. H series pulleys and belts for 2 axes. 2:1 pulley reduction with
24" belts. Pulleys are 14 and 28 tooth. The 14 tooth pulleys need
keyway and set screw put in.

The price for the whole wad is 500 bucks and like I said you pay
frieght. Make a couple of mounting plates and you have a 2 axis CNC. A
little more work plus a few parts will get you a 3 axis.
I have pictures of everything eccept the xy table which pictures should
be available this weekend. Please email me off list at the following
address

I will send you pictures and answer any questions.
Help me clean out my house and stay married.
