We had some 1.250" x 1/2 " aluminum bar and some 1/8" aluminum sheet
aroundthe shop. The heat sink/mounting brackets are actually made
from 3 separate peices. The bottom plate screws to each heatsink with
3 screws per side. I used 6-32 flat head screws but 5-40's would have
probably been the wiser choice. The circuit board is screwed to each
heatsink with nylon screws and a nylon spacer underneath the board. I
have more detailed pictures and cad drawings for these if any one
wants them. There is a small 3/16 W X 1.32 Dp clearance cut into the
heatsink next to each screw as there is a ground circuit on the edge
of the board at each screw. The clearance cut keeps circuit ground
from coming into contact with chassis ground.
