Perhaps file a shallow thread? I would think that would work.
What if you could chase a thread on a mill using a spin index
or cobbled togther thing that spins and goes in and out?
Like sharpening a spiral fluted reamer or end mill.
Of course you would need a thread to chase. something on the
rotating/sliding device that engaged a similar course theaded
something and caused it to turn as it was advanced.
What about an old twist drill or end mill? Aren't some of those about 1 tpi?
Just idle thoughts as the rtlinux frustration builds.
