Congratulations on getting the courage to get as far as you have with RH
6.2. There are a couple of books that I found to be most helpful.
"A Practical Guide to Linux" by Mark G. Sobell, Addison Wesley
"Linux In A Nutshell" by Jessica P Hekman, O'Reilly
The first is a good discussion of the features of Linux, the second a very
concise command reference.
Other comments mixed in.

remove the apache net server stuff. It isn't needed by the EMC.
before the windowing programs will really run. If the RH install has any
problem with finding your devices, you should be able to enter the
characteristics of the monitor and video driver.
available at the site above also. The newest RPM package is available from
sourceforge.com. Just search there for EMC and find the download page. It
is named something like emc-1.1-17.RPM.
-Is there a script for the rh 6.2, rtlinux, and EMC combination?
No there isn't. Linuxcnc has some pages that deal with the configuration
of the real-time kernel.
