Sherline Mill Labled Wrong?

Hi everyone! I am not sure if I am looking at this correctly and
would like your opinions. I think the labling of the increments on
the Y-AXIS on the sherline mill are backwards. I will try my best to
explain. My machine is setup as the spindle is moving (even though
really the axes move). If I draw a drawing in CAD and then place that
drawing on the XY axis and looking at the mill from ABOVE my mill
cuts out the drawing exactly as its shown on CAD. Now... I have
noticed when the spindle moves further away from me that would then
be a + Y movement. When spindle moves towards me that would then be
a - Y movement. Right? Well as the spindle "moves" away from me, the
AXIS really moves and thats the other way, toward me. This causes the
numbers on the sherline Y-Axis to decrease. This has thrown me off
for sometime and seems backwards...they should increase.
On the X-axis when the spindle moves to the right, the table really
moves and thats to the left. Here the numbers do "increase" showing
it is a + movement.
any opinions? Do I need to relable the Y-Axis, let sherline know, or
am I looking at this wrong??
thanks!
