Robert Allen: In a word: Don't waste your time and materials! Have you
ever heard the term, "Application Specific"? Would you use an M50 to kill
mosquitos? Do you know the voltage-at-load, what load, and "duty-cycle" at
full-load of each tap of this transfomer? Have you considered the resale
value in a like garage-sale of the welder with its transformer removed?

Have you read about and/or had any experience at all with electrical
terminations connected to aluminum wire or terminals?

Is your fire-insurance paid-up? Are you REALLY too poor to afford a proper
transformer of CORRECT specifications, with COPPER windings, for your "CNC
use"?

Is there not a "surplus dealer" near where you live, which might have several
high-A low-V transformers about, and who is kind and knowledgeable enough to
"shoot [it]" with you about application and use of such?

Ever consider winding your own? It is not that big a deal! Try this link:

Lotsa luck! Sounds you may-well need it! Jan Rowland, Tired old troll
