Essentially you are correct. Along with those much faster spindle speeds
goes much faster feed rates. Routers are mostly used to cut wood, wood
products, and plastics which require must faster feed rates as well as the
faster spindle speeds.

Also, most routers are not nearly as accurate as a milling machine.
