Older rack was "standard" pitch was 14.5 degree, newer is 20 degree.
Keep in mind that the "flatter" pitch will be more accurate if
any "center to center" variations are present. Also it will transmit
more force to axis movement, versus "trying to push the pinion out of
the rack".
