The motors I have that have temperature ratings on the plate all specify
temperatures that are far above what you can hold. I don't know if that is
normal, but one is stickered as not to exceed 100 C on the endbell.

It would seem more likely to me that you would ruin a motor by exceeding the
rated amperage. Of course if you continued to run at the elevated amperage
you would soon exceed the temperature rating as well.
