Everyone will tell you that http://www.usdigital.com has linear
encoders for $28 and linear strips for $2/inch. The combo will
give you 360 CPR or 1440 counts/inch in quadrature
(ie 0.000 694 444 inch steps). I don't know how you can get
higher resolution for less money - but if someone knows, please
speak up!!!

Are you building your own DRO display, or using the Kulaga/Mauch
IBMPC ISA board?
