UK Solid Edge offer - update

Well it's the sign of a sick and demented mind answering your own
posts but here goes.
Sent off for the Solid Egde offer. The form asked for your college,
course and tutor. I religiously filled this in as truthfully as
possible. It didn't actually say CURRENT course so I didn't feel too
bad about listing my 25 year old details <BG>
Sent this lot off on the Wednesday, got a recorded delivery package
on the Saturday. Contents of boxed set were one CD with licence
number and a 455 page manual, unusual in these days.
Loaded the software up and got my son to have a look at it as he's
quite conversant with Solid Edge.
So far the only thing that we can find that detracts from the full
commercial copy of V9 is that the part and draft files are not
associated. In the full version if you alter the model it updates the
draft files. In the educational version you have to do this manually.
Other than that it saves, prints , no banners or signs on the work.
This is one very serious piece of kit. There is an extra in V9 that
isn't in the earlier version. This is called Engineering Handbook.
Covers beams, gears, bolts etc. You enter the details into a formulae
and the program generates the sizes, stress etc and draws the part.
Alter any of the variables and it recalculates and updates the part.
Not really had time to work on this as yet. Plenty of on screen
tutorials and I'm still working through these.
