FANUC vs CNCPro

ballendo@...

Isn't this proprietary for Denford? Are they selling
it separately
from their machines and curriculums?

FANUCMD? I THINK SO. WILL ASK THEIR REP LATER.

Subject: Re: Can CNCPro users provide some input?
Not so small. I typically draw and create code in my
den then carry a
floppy to the garage. I have to copy the files to the
place CNCPRO
likes to find them.
Jerry

FANUCMD BEHAVE THE SAME? I CAN ONLY LOOK AT A: and C:

Randy Abernathy, cnc002@...
FANUC family of CNC controllers.
Actually you
don't need to use line numbers on them at all and I
would think that
FANUC
would have kept the same thread with any PC based
software that they
might
create.

AM SUPRISED, AND SUSPECT THAT FANUCMD DOES'T RECOGNISE
LINE NUMBER N000's
WILL TEST LATER WHEN I HAVE ACCESS TO THE MACHINE
AGAIN. I WOULD EXPECT
THAT THE LEAST THE SOFTWARE SHOULD DO IS TO IGNORE
LINE NO's AND NOT
GENERATE ERROR MESSAGE WHEN IT ENCOUNTER THEM, AS WITH
GCODE GENERATED BY
OTHER PROGRAMS. I VAGUELY REMEMBER THAT SOME SOFTWARE
PROVIDE AN OPTION
(eg. flashcutcnc) TO EITHER INCLUDE OR EXCLUDE LINE
NUMBERS. WONDER IF
I COULD IMPORT THE GCODE WITH THE LINE NUMBERS INTO
FLASHCUT (or other
software - feedback please) SELECT NO LINE NUMBER
OPTION, REGENERATE
GCODE. UNFORTUNATELY, I ONLY HAVE A DEMO VERSION OF
FLASHCUT. EDITING
OUT N000's IN A LONG LIST WILL BE TOO TIME CONSUMING

As far as CncPRO goes, I find the G codes to be
similar to the FANUC
codes.
You can't "nest" subroutines as in the real FANUC but
you can do
subroutines,
both regular and parametric, and call up to 100 of
them in a given
program.
It also has variables that can be assigned to values
to allow you to
easily
change the size etc. of a part that has the same
shape, etc.

LIKE G01 XD YE ZF? WHERE D,E,F ARE VARIABLES? SORRY.
NOT TOO FAMALIAR WITH
PARAMETRIC. WILL AN EXPLANATION BE TOO LONG WINDED FOR
THE LIST? I
THINK IT WILL BE OF INTEREST TO THOSE RELATIVELY NEW
TO PART PROGRAMING

>Jerry,

>Good to know about the G41, G42 not being in this
program. I was
>hoping it would have it or something simular.

>Anyone know of a program that does? YES. FANUCMD

Regards,

Peter
