I have reading this and other groups for several weeks noting
the pros & cons of various mill configurations and suitability for
cnc conversions, and have decided on a Rong Fu RF-45. To those that
have an RF mill, what did you find advisable or absolutely neccessary
before using it? Did you do a complete disassembly, clean and lube as
one would do with a generic HF/Grizzly mill? Find any sand in
critical areas? Any thoughts on automatic lubing? I want this mill to
last a lifetime and I would rather not have to repair it in 5 yrs if
I can prevent it now. I have never torn down a machine tool of this
complexity or sophistication, so I will take a lot of pictures and
notes if a teardown is neccessary. Any advice from someone who
has "been there, done that, & don't want to do it again" would be
greatly appreciated.
