Use of 110 volt "site transformers"
The secondary of a UK safety transformer is 55v055 volts which on nominal
input gives 78 volts dc peak.
HOWEVER, the variations in the mains voltage allow this peak to increase to
83volts.
In my recent experience 83volts turns a geko 201 into a fire work, so when
using site transformers in the UK treat them as an 85volt dc supply.

this post is simply meant to pass on my experience with a seemingly
convenient power supply (did work well for quite a while). In no way is
this a critisism of gecko, I bought a few to play with and think they are
great.
