I recently aquired a Bridgeport Series I CNC (rigid ram) with a BOSS
5 controller (controller is dead). In addition to replacing the
controller with Gecko Drives I am going to replace the mechanical
variable speed drive system with an electronic one.
It would seem the proper procedure is to simply lock the "variable"
part of the system into the highest RPM setting and then let the
electronics take over from there. What is the best way to lock the
speed this way? Of course I can't use the air motor on the speed
controller because the controller is dead.
