The Prazi table is 17" long and 6" wide. The work area is 11.4" x 5.5"
The Sherline 5000 mill has 9" x 3" travel, so the Prazi is considerably
bigger. It also weighs over 150 pounds - I had to take the head off to
carry it.
The Prazi X and Y should be very simple to CNC convert- they have a very
plain block with a hole bored to hold thrust bearings. It should be
easy to make a plate with the right size holes and just bolt it on.
Z is another matter. The head is raised by a lead screw, which has a
simple plate mount and would be easy to add a motor BUT, the head is
HEAVY and it would take a heck of a motor to raise it. It is also
REQUIRED that you tighten the head clamp bolts for any milling
operation, so I dont think this is the way to do Z axis- its just like
doing the knee elevation on a Bport.
The Prazi has a quill feed of 50mm or 1.9". It has a rack gear on its
side, and a simple pinion drives it from a handwheel, ala a drill press.
I think a plate made to clamp around the quill base could have a lead
screw added, as is often done on Bports.
I believe the RongFu 45 is sold by Penn Tool. I have seen other catalogs
that list some RongFu, but not the 45.
