EMC actually started out as a servo controller. The stepper capability
was added later. It has been used to drive the PMAC DSP base controller
and also to drive standard servo amps through the Servo to go interface
card. Depending on which build you use within EMC there are many ways to
configure it, including its own built in PID (done digitally of
course)..
