I just posted two pictures of my RF-45 mill at www.metalworking.com.
Today, I made a yoke for the X-axis ballnuts. I am installing the 3/4"
ballscrews. The yoke and ballnuts fit. I had visions of having to grind
the underside of the table- but thankfully it wasn't the case. My yoke is
split, with two 1/4-20 screws connecting one half to the other. Two small
springs will go around the screws. This way the preload will be adjustable.
The ballnuts are the cheap ($30 ea) NOOK brand nuts from McMaster Carr.
I am hoping to get the ballscrews installed by the end of the week.
