Here is some stuff I have "kept" which may have relevant info for you. (see
links below).
Also, see if you can find a library with a decent periodicals section, and
see if you can find a copy of the May/June '81 issue of Robotics Age, now
long out-of-print. I did a "DIY" circuit in there which is what you are
looking for. It works! I used it then. I don't much fiddle with unipolar
stuff, now. When I need a stepper circuit, I just buy "store bought"
biploar-chopper circuits. Looking at "Gecko", next! TINY stuff with
ambitious specs. We'll see!
