EMC, BDI, and version of Linux

I'm putting together a new computer ( as I type ) and thinking about
Linux and EMC on a partition, just in case.
The computer is destined to be a house machine, but these things have
a way of migrating to the shop ...
Is the BDI install CD available as a downloadable, burnable-by-me image
yet ? I remember there was some talk of this.
Also, which flavour of Redhat is now preferred ? I'm afraid I've rather
lost touch with EMC in recent months.
Thanks in advance.
