Melting Aluminium

Hi guys,
back in the eighties, I built an electric furnace to melt aluminium
and brass. I forget the actual size of crucible it handled but the
internal diameter of the muffle was 6" and the height was about 12". The
current consumption was approx 16A (on 230V) and it could melt 5Lbs of
brass in 50 - 60 mins.
If anyone is interested in details, I'd be happy to supply off-list.
Regards,
Philip Mac Cabe.
