Hi Chemists on the list,

I hear that one get very obnoxious fumes when hot-wire cutting
polystyrene. What are the components of the fumes? Styrene is
carcinogenic I hear. Is it one on the component of the fumes? The
last time I did some manual hot-wire cutting, I had to use a fan to
blow the fumes away from my nostrils. The smell wasn't pleasant
whenever that was unsuccessful. What precautions should one take when
doing CNC hot-wire cutting?

BTW, any plans free or otherwise, for CNC hot-wire cutting machine
available on the web?
