3D Mill tracer

Dear Friends,
Today cleaning up some "lot of rust" from a brand new CNC lathe
shipped from Taiwan the shop owner asked me if I know about
hydraulics.
Well, he faced me with an old Bridgeport copy mill he got from an US
College a few years ago. The age might be from something between 1950
and
1975, there is no further hint on the age.
I know my italian copy lathe, but I newer had to do with something
like this typical american copy mill, where all 3 dimensions are
governed
by one single valve block
A lovely toy, smooth working and a stiff construction. Bedways like
new!
The x-y valves work well, but the Z valve is dead for a month now.
I sniffed a bit on it and could determine that there is no output to the
lift
cylinder and apparently the is something disconnected between the
feeler shaft and the Z axis valve.
Because of the compact construction with a lot of extras and the tight
alignment
tolerances I didn't open it yet. Only the covers that are easy to
access.

Do we have somebody in the group who could help me on?

The brand of the copy valve block is True-Trace
Controlpath automatic 360/3D
model 1110-04
Assy no. 6603
serial no 1028FM
No factory address

There is a name plate of the former service technician on it and I would
not be
very surprised if somebody out of the group knows him.
William Spies , hydraulic tracer service
Milford, New Jersey

Tomorrow I will call him. perhaps he is still alive.

This machine is in such a good shape and the x-y table working so smooth
that it
would be a real shame to have to drop it. In spite of the submarine grey
colour
I fell in love with it on the first sight and want to get it back on
service.

Any help is very appreciated.
Your Sven Peter
