Hi all,

I have a bit of a question in regard to suitable DC Motor types in
regard to servo applications.
I have a pallet of Field wound DC motors. I hooked one up this
evening to a Gecko drive. It seemed to work ok but it was a bit
light on in the power area.
I hooked it up running through a bridge rectifier. Both fields going
to the DC + and -, and then one armature going straight to the power
source the other armature to one of the AC legs of the bridge and
lastly the other AC leg going to the other power source. This allows
the motor to turn in both directions ok but is it good enough for
CNC????
