Hi David,

Yup, me too! I'm in the "think building"/info/parts gathering phase
of a homemade small mill as well. I'm looking at the Grizzly G8750
6" X 18.5" travel Compound Slide table @ $109.95 vs. the Enco AK201-
2536 7.5" X 11" table at $119.95. Anybody have any experience with
these things? Can they be "tuned-up" enough for about .005" accuracy?

This project was brought on by Nansel's "Heavy Iron" article in Nuts
& Volts a while back. I hope to build one similar to his with more
travel with one of those surplus treadmill motors/controllers and
stepper motor CNC. Based on my experiences with a homebuilt CNC
router, I'm thinking maybe this thing will need a counterweight on
the Z axis to "take a load off" the Z stepper motor?

Anybody have an idea for a cheap spindle of some sort?
