RtLinux problem

This weekend, I set up another PC with the rtlinux patch- a Compaq with an
AMD 233 processor. This machine has been running RedHat 5.2/X windows for
several months with no problems. After I set up the real time patch, X
won't work (the mouse is screwing it up). If I trick the mouseconfig
program and state that it has an old serial mouse (it doesn't, it has a
generic PS/2 mouse), X windows boots, but the mouse doesn't work of course.
If I boot with the old kernel, everything works fine. I have turned gpm
on and off to no avail. My question is, where should I even start to look
to solve this problem? The second question is, how can one use X windows/
FVMM or Afterstep, without a mouse? What are the hot keys to get from one
window to another?
Now for the metalworking, CAD/CAM/DRO/EDM/CNC part of this thread: I have
been working on my new RF-45 mill a little every day after work. Slowly
the retrofitting is being completed. So, far, I have disassembled it,
installed a blanchard ground plate in between the column and the base to
mount a bearing for the Z-axis ballscrew, made a split yoke for the X-axis
ballnuts (2 to preload), pulled out the rack and pinion in the column, and
cut a 2.5" diameter hole in the top of the column to run the ballscrew
through. I have all the ballscrews and ballnuts and am machining the
ballscrews. I have had too much to do at work and in my home shop to just
get it all done right away. This weekend, I did an emergency production
run of 600 parts for someone to be delivered Monday morning. Anyway,
that's the "on topic" portion of the thread ;>)
